Galway Youth Orchestra

Galway Youth Orchestra is the longest established community orchestra in the West of Ireland and is also amongst the longest running orchestras in the country. 

Founded in 1982 Galway Youth Orchestra has over 140 players who are organised into a Junior Orchestra, an Intermediate Orchestra, a Senior Orchestra, and the Galway Youth Jazz Orchestra. The GYO is managed by a Board chaired by Ann Walsh.

 

St Patrick's Brass Band

St Patrick's Brass Band is a multi-instrument brass band based in Frenchville Lane in the centre of Galway city, beside Éamonn Ceannt railway station. In 2016, the band celebrated 120 years since its founding. 

The St Patrick's Brass Band practice and perform as a Junior, Intermediate and Senior Band, and have a reputation for developing musical talent in the city and county.
